It’s rare that a player follows a genuinely great round with a good one, let alone a score of similarly spectacular dimensions. But on Friday at the Thailand Golf Championship, Lee Westwood achieved just that.
After opening the tournament with a scarcely believable round of 60, the Englishman carded an eight-under-par 64 in significantly tougher conditions on Friday.
Good enough for a 36-hole total of 20-under-par, the former World Number One currently enjoys a nigh-on insurmountable 11-shot lead.
Unsurprisingly, he’s been feeling quite pleased with himself.
John Daly, who was in sole posession of second place overnight, currently sits alone in fourth, a full 14 shots adrift of Westwood’s pace.
