Jason Day is looking forward to playing with Tiger Woods (and Robert Allenby) in the opening round of the Australian Open. He has never been paired with Tiger, who inspired him to wake up at 5am and practice when he was a kid.
“I got up to 32 1/2 hours a week of practice because of that guy,” he said.” “He has influenced my life a lot. I have always wanted to play against him. It is going to be fun . . . it is going to be very friendly but obviously we want to beat each other.”
The grouping is sure to have the largest galleries as the marquee threesome of the event, which should be a good omen for Day, who finished second at the Masters and the U.S. Open this year.
