Tracking Tiger, Rory and the Rest in Round One of the PGA
By Stephanie Wei under PGA Championship

Fore right!

Hello from Atlanta Athletic Club! It was beautiful this morning when Tiger Woods started on the 10th hole to kick off Glory’s Last Shot (the most overused phrase…ever). Too bad it won’t stay that way. Temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-90s again.

I’m live-blogging the first round for the WSJ.com. Please stop by and say hi! And feel free to use the space below as an open thread/debate, as well as the comments section over at the live-blog.

Pull up your bootstraps and get ready. Because I’ve been in go-mode since much too early this morning.

Oh, I haven’t revealed my picks for the week yet. Well, for Fantasy Golf, this is what my team looks like:

Group A: Dustin Johnson; Lee Westwood (I reluctantly switched out Nick Watney for Westy, but maybe I should have tossed out DJ.)

Group B: Rickie Fowler, Steve Stricker; Bill Haas, Charl Schwartzel

Group C: Rory McIlroy; Jason Day

My favorites to win? Rory and Day. The ’11 US Open champ has a confident swagger to his stride and the course sets up perfectly. Same with Day, who is due.

Basically, anyone who is a good ballstriker since precision is imperative at AAC. The fairways are narrow and the rough is nasty because players can’t control the ball coming out of the Bermuda grass.

I also expect to see Adam Scott have another good week. He’s on cruise control right now. Keep an eye on Sergio Garcia, who is the only player to top ten (T7, T9) at the US Open and the British Open, too. You can’t count out world No. 1 Luke Donald, either. Robert Garrigus, the Low American at the US Open, isn’t a bad dark horse pick.

Alright, the live-blog is underway, so see you there!
