Charles Barkley is a man of few talents, most of which involve the dribbling and/or dunking of basketballs. He’s not a talented golfer, he’s not a talented sports analyst, but damn it, he wants you to know he was never anything but a good friend to Tiger Woods.
Perplexed by the blame he was forced to shoulder in the wake of the scandal– you know the one I’m talking about– the former NBA star doesn’t understand why the troubled star hasn’t been in touch.
Speaking to ESPN New York’s Mike Lupica, Barkley revealed that he hasn’t heard from Tiger in nearly two years.
“You think you’re friends with a guy. You talk to him once a week for 15 years. You’re like, this dude is my friend, we do things, we have fun together… I haven’t talked to him in two years and I’m wondering what the hell is going on.”
But even if he had heard from Tiger and the two, along with big Micheal Jordan, were still fond of tearing it up in Las Vegas, the firing of Steve Williams would have been the “last straw”… or something…
“It’s been very frustrating to watch everything that has transpired, and getting rid of Steve Williams was probably the last straw for me.”
Actually, wait a second, can sanctimony and hypocrisy be classed as talents?
