Well, maybe that just applies to me and those who aren’t playing in the tournament, but it does impact the players, too. Just an FYI — due to the threat of thunderstorms in the Akron area on Saturday, the leaders at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational won’t have the privilege of sleeping in on Saturday. (And yes, I realize I can do my job hungover, so we’ll see.)
Third-round tee times have been moved up and players will tee off from 7-9 a.m. on No. 1 and No. 10 tees in threesomes.
I’ve been enjoying the three-and-a-half- to four-hour rounds! This week’s pace of play is worthy of praise. No back-ups (at least none that I know of) and no falling asleep in between shots while waiting for the group ahead to clear the way!
Play was originally scheduled to start at 8a.m. in twosomes off only the first tee.
How does this impact those of you at home? Well, unfortunately, third-round coverage will be tape-delayed, but it’ll air as originally scheduled. I’ll do my best to tweet updates from the course if you’d like. Unless Tiger is going nuts on the course, two rounds is enough for me this week. Please drop your requests below (I know we don’t have the groupings yet, but certainly you wouldn’t mind updates on individual players).
