“I enjoy coming here to Ponte Vedra,” said Phil Mickelson after sitting in the scoring room by himself for at least 30 minutes to decompress. “The people here come out and really support the tournament. It’s been a fun event. It hasn’t been the result I wanted, but I certainly had a good time here.”
That’s all. Apparently Phil wasn’t feeling very chatty after firing an even-par 72 on Sunday at The Players to eventually place T33. He still some signed autographs for fans, though. Whereas Graeme McDowell, who led through 54 holes, shot 79, including two water balls on the last two holes, and was downright effusive.
To clarify, those four sentences above are Phil’s version of “no comment.”
