Bubba Watson doesn't feel well

Bubba Watson, who shot five-over 76 in the first round at Riviera, pulled out of the Northern Trust Open because of a strained stomach muscle. Watson says he went to the hospital twice this week to check it out and make sure it wasn’t something more serious. When he still felt pain, Watson returned to the doctor for an ultrasound and a CAT scan.

“My mind was worried about (the injury) and not worried about playing golf,” said Watson. “I’m not in the right place. I need to rest my stomach and hopefully get better for Tucson. It affected (my game) today just because I wasn’t thinking about golf.”

Afterward, Bubba tweeted, “I WD from tourney today after round. I have a pulled oblique muscle, I have been to ER twice this week. Just to make sure it was not serious.”

Bubba confirmed that the doctors said the pain wasn’t serious.
