Tiger in Solid Golf Shocker!

Old Tiger: back for a day, at least

Well, it looks like yesterday’s closing eagle gave Tiger’s game just the sort of kick-start it needed going into Friday’s second round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Six birdies and no bogeys (no bogeys, people) have seen the big man rocket up the leaderboard into a share of second place.

Setting the pace, though, is Hoffman-haired South African Thomas Aiken, whose ten-under total is currently enough for a three-shot lead over a group of five players, Tiger and Rory McIlroy (who’s yet to play the back nine) among them.

World Number One Lee Westwood, not as impressive as he was for seventeen holes yesterday, carded a 70 for a five-under total. Martin Kaymer lies a shot further back, two bogeys in the middle of his back nine dramtically slowing his progress.
