In the spirit of getting loyal readers to join groups, why not add another? After all, surely there’s a rather large crossover between golf and NBA fans! Uh, maybe a handful? Anyone got Anthony Kim or Dustin Johnson’s number?
Well, even if it turns out to be just five people, that’s still a league. And the best part is that gives you more of a chance to win stuff throughout the season, like courtside tickets to a Knicks game. I know what you’re thinking — that’s dumb if you don’t live in the NY area — and yes, I do realize that’s a problem, so I’m working on solving that (likely to be NBA-related memorabilia, etc.). But I have plenty of other things already lying around the WUP office, including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, Jason Kidd autographed golf balls, the new Dave Pelz short game book, clubs and more.
How do you sign up? It’s easy!
*Go to the Yahoo Fantasy Basketball League site here.
*Follow instructions of where to sign up for a league — Wei Above the Rim
*Enter the group ID number: 123220 and password: weiunderpar
*And then name your team and you’re all set!

Woohoo! Oh, if you’re new to being an NBA fan, that’s cool. Honestly, I haven’t followed the NBA closely in ten years. I mean, I’ll watch the playoffs, but I’m also a bit resentful because of the death of the Sonics (hence, my team name is Sonics 4eva). I was a massive fan in the early-mid ’90s. You know, the great years of Shawn “I have 100 kids” Kemp, Gary Payton, Detlef Schrempf, Sam Perkins, etc. It was a good thing that I was in middle school, otherwise I may have been considered a groupie.
Anyway, I was inspired by Intern Kevin’s new NBA hobby and figured it’d be fun to start a Fantasy Basketball League with my readers and friends, especially since I missed the boat for Golf and Football this year. Alright, go sign up. It’ll be fun and you have the chance to win more free stuff!
