Azinger, Price…and Now Pernice Withdraw From US Senior Open
By Stephanie Wei under US Senior Open

Paul Azinger and Nick Price pulled out of this week’s US Senior Open at Sahalee Country Club due to injuries. Azinger has a foot injury while Price has a toe injury. Meanwhile, Tom Pernice Jr. has also withdrawn because he’s playing in the PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic instead. (Ouchie!)

All three players were part of some of the featured pairings in the first two rounds. Azinger was supposed to play with Tom Lehman and Hal Sutton. Price was paired with Jay Haas and Hale Irwin, while Pernice was to play with Jeff Sluman and John Cook.

But good news for several alternates! Paul Trittler will replace Price; Gary Lindeblad will take Azinger’s spot; and William Copeland gets the nod to fill Pernice’s place.
