Hectic day and it’s still not over. Thanks to John Daly (and Merf), the server crashed due to unusually high volume of traffic — so that’s why my site wasn’t working at some point today (I have no sense of time right now). When I walked out for my first glimpse of the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews on Monday, I felt like I was on a movie set. There were the towering grandstands, the Open Championship leaderboard and the rundown yet grand Hamilton Hall directly behind the 18th green. The stately R&A building sits just to the left, behind the first tee. Then there’s the row of small shops along the right side of the 18th fairway, including the Old Tom Morris Shop, and the Rusacks Hotel, which resembles a small castle.
