After Dustin Johnson’s painful collapse in the final round of the US Open, we’re wondering if he can bounce back at the AT&T National. Playing with Tiger Woods and Davis Love III, he scrambled to post a one-over 71.
Meanwhile, off the course, DJ and some of his tour buddies are dipping their feet in horse racing waters. Via the AP:
Johnson, Pat Perez and a couple of buddies pitched in to buy a thoroughbred that is training at Hollywood Park. The name of the horse is “Bling Boy,” although an informal meeting was planned for Tuesday night to find their own name for it.
“It’s just something that should be a lot of fun,” Johnson said. “He might be (bad). He might be pretty good. Who knows? It’s not like you can talk to them.”
Well, you can talk to them, but it’d be a one-sided conversation. And I can practically see DJ trying to talk to Bling Boy (here’s this if you need to jog your memory).
As for new names, no word yet if a final decision was made on Tuesday. But if the guys are going for cheesy golf-related ones, how about “Low Handicap”? Got something better? I think it’s time for a name-DJ’s-horse contest.
