With all the hype surrounding this year’s free agent class — particularly with LeBron James — even Tiger Woods has been asked to weigh in on the debate.
“Yeah, actually I would love to see him go to the [Los Angeles] Lakers,” Tiger said in his press conference on Tuesday. “I’m an LA guy, can’t help it. That would be interesting, wouldn’t it?”
Then he laughed. Awkwardly. Probably because he knows there’s zero chance of that happening. But it’s interesting he’s asserted his Laker loyalty.
Just a little over a year ago — during the 2009 NBA Finals — Tiger said he was “really torn” about the Orlando Magic vs. LA Lakers match-up. You see, he grew up a “die-hard” Lakers fan, but he has season tickets to the Magic. When pressed again, he finally threw out the PC talk and pledged his allegiance to the Lakers.
Good to see he didn’t hesitate on picking the Lakers over the Magic on the multi-million dollar LeBron question.
