After Bubba Watson failed to make the US Open, he tweeted he made his first hole-in-one during the 36-hole sectional qualifier in Columbus, OH. Ever. Seven exclamation marks! Hard to believe, right? But I guess not everyone can say they’ve made an ace (yes, I’m looking at you, Shane Bacon, who is probably seething somewhere in Scottsdale).
According to Bubba’s scorecard, the hole-in-one came on the 150-yard 16th hole during his second round. Unfortunately, he followed it with a double-bogey. Ouchie.
And even though Bubba didn’t qualify, along with Rickie Fowler, he hopped on a private jet heading to Monterey, CA — because he’s still caddying for Drew Brees on Wednesday in (I’m assuming) Golf Digest’s US Open Challenge.
Good for him, but that’s gotta hurt. If so, he’s not showing it — I mean, that sure is a lot of exclamation marks. Maybe he’s still riding the hole-in-one high. I’d say I hope he throws a huge party, but I’ve heard he’s never had a sip of alcohol in his life. Which is just weird.
