Good news! After withdrawing from The Players during the final round because of severe pain in his neck — which was later determined to be an inflamed facet joint — Tiger Woods will play in next week’s Memorial Tournament, the Golf Channel is reporting.
According to the Golf Channel, Tiger will join the event’s host Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker, Rory McIlroy, Kenny Perry, Zach Johnson and Sean O’Hair in the Wednesday Nine-Hole Skins Game.
Tiger has yet to officially commit to the tournament, but earlier this year he announced his intention to make such decisions sooner than the Friday deadline the week before events. Expect a posting on his website Monday.
He is the defending champion of The Memorial, winning by one stroke over Jim Furyk last year to secure his fourth title at the event.
