Six-time major winner turned CBS talking head Nick Faldo was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle on Tuesday. Arguably the best golfer in British history, he’s the only living individual in the sport to receive this prestigious honor. He described the experience as “unbelievable” and “amazing.”
Sir Nick shared some more of his reflections:
When I found out in the summer, my first thought was of riding my bike through the woods to the golf course when I was just starting out. I played my first round of golf on my 14th birthday…I had dreams as a young boy of being a golfer and winning tournaments, but you don’t dream of this.
Ah, nostalgia. When the PGA Tour’s 2010 season officially kicks off in January, no doubt he’ll arrive at the commentator’s box on his white steed prepared to valiantly talk golf.
