Many of you have already heard what Geoff Ogilvy said about Tiger Woods the other day. In case you haven’t, here’s the jist of it:
“I think, whether [Tiger] has admitted it or not, he’s probably not quite as right as he wants to be.”
Well said, Ogilvy. However, in my humble opinion, I don’t think Tiger will ever be where he wants to be – which would be winning every single tournament. Can’t win ‘em all, but he sure does a good job of giving himself a chance each time.
“Whatever Tiger does is right […] I think [Tiger] needs a direction for his focus. For Tiger, that’s technique and getting really into his golf swing […] He just hasn’t made putts like he had before. I think he’ll be all right.”
You can’t disagree with Ogilvy. He’s right on point (and tactful)! Well, I don’t know if everything Tiger does is right.
Both are playing in this week’s Quail Hollow Championship. Ogilvy has been playing stellar golf all season – with two wins. He’s ranked 4th in the Official World Golf Standings while Tiger is ranked 1st. But, Ogilvy is 1st in Fed Ex Cup Standings while Tiger is in 16th place. Although Tiger might be a “fraction off,” he still has a win under his belt, and he has a good track record at the tourney (won in 2007).
Can anyone say face-off? Just a gut feeling. (I was hoping it’d happen at the Masters). It’ll come down to these two on Sunday. Mark my words (unless there’s money involved)! And, that’ll make for some exciting golf!
